Marketing Strategies: 3 Simple Steps to Creating Your Ideal Income

June 10th, 2008

Are you interested in creating your ideal income this year? Are you tired of waiting for things to get better? Are you feeling like you have so much more potential than you are currently using?

Imagine for a moment reaching your ideal income this year. What would that look like and feel like? What would you be able to do that you can’t do now?

Ask yourself what are the things you need to be doing right now to manifest that? Do you need to find a way to raise your motivation? Do need to stop procrastinating? Do you need to stop avoiding marketing ? Do you need to be more accountable to yourself?

If you want to learn a simple way to create your ideal income, then read on…

Step I : Get clear on what you do want.

Do know exactly where you want to be professionally in 12 mo. from today? To achieve even more clarity, I invite you to this simple visualization.

Sit in a comfortable place where you wont be disturbed. Ask yourself the following questions: In a year from now, what kind of work do you want to be doing? How many hours a week do you want to be doing it ? Who would be your ideal clients and colleagues ? What kind of people do you want to be around?
What would be your ideal physical surroundings for work? Finally, ask your self what would be your ideal income? Pick a figure that is realistic but optimistic.

Here’s an example from one of my clients of what your visualization might look like, ” In one year from today, I see myself doing real estate, working mostly with listings, and being surrounded with people I like , people who are upbeat, responsible, committed and motivated. I have my own office, and I am looking out of a big window , looking at a garden. My income is $150,000 net.”

How close is that to what you want to create?

Step 2: Overcoming the obstacles, challenges, self limiting beliefs, and self sabotaging strategies.

In Step 1, you got clarity on your ideal professional life. In Step 2, you identify the blocks you’d need to overcome to get there. So ask yourself what is stopping you? What are your self limiting beliefs? What are your self sabotaging strategies?

In my 30 years of coaching people to become successful , the self limiting beliefs that I hear the most are:

• “I’m not good enough”

• “I don’t know enough”

• “I don’t have what it takes to succeed”

• “I can’t do marketing

• “If I market myself , I’m afraid I’ll be rejected”

Take a good look at the list and ask yourself which ones resonate with you? Here’s the good news: “These are not facts, these are beliefs and beliefs can be changed” One of the things I help my clients to do is to reprogram their self limiting belief into an Empowering beliefs. If you were to reprogram the beliefs above into Empowering beliefs what would they sound like? Anything like,

• “I am more than good enough”

• “I know all that I need to know and I can always research and find the answers”

• “I have all I need to succeed”

• “I’m learning to become a Master at marketing”

• “Since I have something of value to offer my prospective clients, most likely I’ll be accepted”

How would it feel to have those beliefs as your foundation?

Step 3: Create your script

Once you have clarified what you want and reprogrammed your self limiting beliefs, the next step is to create your script. What is the area that you need to develop the most? Is it marketing, is it time management, is it confidence building? What ever you decide, you need a script to achieve it.

Why do I recommend a script rather than a plan? A business plan is a written document outlining a series of logical steps that lead to the realization of a goal in business. A business plan follows specific guidelines and requires certain information. A script, on the other hand, comes from your imagination. You can write what you want and not have to follow guidelines set by someone else.

Einstein once said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. Imagination is an integral part of ourselves and our intuition. When we write a script, we feel what we are writing and those feelings create physical sensations that connect our body to our imagination. When we are free to imagine and feel what we want, not only do we become like magnets to draw it to us, but also we are guided by “inspired action”

What is the difference between “inspired action” and “frantic action”? The difference is between faith and fear. As you have probably heard, “Desperation doesn’t sell”. And yet, many of my clients have come to see me in a state of fear and panic. They have been taking action steps, frantic action , based on their fear and then they wonder why their marketing isn’t working. Fear doesn’t attract clients, it repels them.

“Inspired action” on the other hand are action steps that you feel inspired to do. What inspires you? Your vision, the reason why you’re doing what you are doing. Here’s a tip, if you really want to be successful, focus on the service you’re giving to others, not on the money. The money will follow if you are making a contribution and doing what you love.

One final thought on Faith v.s. Fear. Here’s a story that illustrates the message: a student goes to his teacher and says, “I’m having a terrible struggle between my fear and my faith. My fear is represented by a black dog and my faith is represented by a white dog. They are battling all the time and I don’t know which one is going to win.” The teacher says , “Why, the white dog, of
Course.” The student says, “How do you know?” The teacher says, “Because that’s the one you’re going to feed.”

Here’s a tip: How many creative ways can you find to feed your white dog?

3 Ways You Can Live Like Oprah Today

May 29th, 2008

Who wouldn’t want to live like Oprah? She has billions of dollars to do with however she likes. She has luxurious estates in beautiful places. She has powerful and influential friends. She is adored by millions and has influence beyond comprehension. Yet, these things are not what inspired my article. What I am sharing may surprise you. So how do we mere mortals get to live like Oprah? Read on.

Like Oprah, you too can live a life of gratitude

I was incredibly moved to read about the “Legends who Lunch” event Oprah planned recently. Here is undisputedly one of the most influential and successful women today, planning an event to pay tribute to the “legends” who have contributed and paved the way for her and others. She identified 25 women “whose steps created a journey of no boundaries” for her generation. She wanted to “thank them, celebrate them, and rejoice in their spirit.” Then she invited 45 women who have benefited from these trail-blazers to come help honor these legends. What a show of gratitude!

Granted, anything that Oprah does gets press, so other hugely successful people may have made similar gestures that I didn’t hear about. But I honestly wonder if that is the case. I find her gesture genuine and inspiring.

Living a life of gratitude doesn’t mean throwing lavish parties, although that sounds like a mighty fine idea if you can pull it off. It means showing appreciation for what we have, whether it is a huge fortune, or a small windfall. It means saying thank you to others for what they have done for us, no matter how significant or trivial. It means thinking of others and being outward focused instead of thinking about “me, me, me” all the time.

So that’s the first way all of us can live like Oprah - feel grateful and appreciate everyday and everything that is good. I believe that one cannot be unhappy if one is truly grateful. Try it for yourself and see what happens. Follow Oprah’s example and keep a gratitude journal everyday. Write down at least five things you feel grateful for that day. Appreciate the simple things in life as well as the grand extravaganzas. I was told that the more grateful you are for what you have, the more the universe sends your way. It’s a very simple thing to do. Start today.

Like Oprah, you too can live a life of generosity Wayne Dyer said that “the measure of your life will not be in what you accumulate, but in what you give away.” And you don’t have to be filthy rich to be generous because aside from money, there are so many other things you can give away. Oprah is known for her generosity in the fabulous gifts she gives to her audience, and in her charity programs in Africa. But if you really pay attention, you’ll notice that she gives much more than that.

She generously shares her struggles and experiences, and in doing so, she gives others hope that they too can overcome whatever obstacles are in their way.

She generously shares her own life lessons, and in doing so, she teaches us wisdom.

She generously offers her affection. She appears to genuinely like her audience, her guests, and her staff. In relating to her, she made us more open to love and trust. What would happen with your relationships if you were more open and affectionate? How will people respond if you accepted them without judgment?

That’s the second way we all can live like Oprah - be generous with our time, our money, our talents, our support, our affection, and our love. What we send out returns to us tenfold. How can our lives not be improved by that?

Like Oprah, you too can live a life of evolution and growth

I admit that this is one of my values, so I get very excited about this. Life offers us lessons everyday and the only tuition we pay is our willingness to accept them. There is no better example of this in practice than Oprah’s “What I Know for Sure” articles that she writes. She takes everyday experiences and translates them into a lesson for how she wants to approach life. I don’t know if you have an opinion, but her life seems to be working pretty darn well to me.

This is the last secret I borrowed from Oprah - live life consciously. Allow and urge yourself to evolve and grow each day. Open your eyes to life’s lessons and live like Oprah. You could do worse in choosing a role model.

Can We Really Attract Wealth?

May 24th, 2008

I ran an event in London with my good mate Suraj back in July with the heading, “Can We Really Attract Wealth?” The event was for a charity called Young Jains UK, and with both of following the Jain religion; it felt right to speak about the Law of Attraction and its connections with Jainism.

Up until now, I really haven’t felt like writing about it for this newsletter, and drawing out the points which really matter and shape the secret that I like to call, “Manifesting Money!” I call it that as although the title is wealth, we are more drilling in on the money aspect. It’s been a tremendous journey for me over the last year, growing in finance, and then spending on things I’ve toyed with and created memorable magic moments with, but what I’ve noticed is the exciting flow that comes with money.

Do you ever find your bank balance around a particular number over several months? When the money comes in and you notice the abundance, you decide to spend a little buying several of your favourite items and so the money goes. Again, comes more money, and again, out it goes. This is flow money brings to us. Every so often we say to ourselves that the bank balance we have isn’t high enough, so we raise our target and then become balanced there. This keeps happenings as we reach new heights and the flow immediately bonds well to whatever amount you seek to have.

What I have discovered, and shared at the event back in July is that money is manifested whenever you REALLY want it, and you can do it very easily. Do you ever get the feeling that if you could make money, all your problems would be over? This means the potential for your music is huge - you could publicise your music, get more gigs, travel around the world, get signed, etc. Money gives you freedom to spend, freedom to have and freedom to just be…

If you’re saying this is difficult, and its not easily manifested, I’m going to throw it back at you and say you’re just like the commoner whose holding the belief that in order to have an abundance of money in your life, you’ve got to work for it? Are you a commoner? The key is that if you feel you have to work hard for money, you will. If you feel it will be easy for you to obtain money, sure it will.

Let me ask you another question… We all want to manifest more money in our lives so that we feel better about who we are, but so many of us hold the belief that the rich and evil or stuck up. Do you think that? The key is that if you feel negative feelings about those who create money around you, you will repel abundance and money away from you.

What is your dominant belief about money? What you feel about money? From what I mentioned above, do you find yourself inviting money, or repelling from money? Manifesting, or creating for that matter, can be explained in a few short steps. You ask, you receive, and you allow “it” to come into your life, whatever “it” maybe. Whether it’s a new car, a relationship, health, or money - those are the simplified steps to creating anything you want in your life. You have heard the expression, “be careful what you ask for, you might just get it!”

True.

So it may sound too easy and simple. We ask and we receive? Boom, just like that? Yes, just like that. What we struggle with is “allowing” the manifestation.

How do you hinder money from coming into your life? You hinder the allowance of money flow into your life with contradictory thoughts, beliefs and feelings. You say, “This year I will make £50,000. But, I want to (or wish I could) make £100,000 or more.” Which of these projections do you think will manifest? So many times it is the limited belief that is manifested in life, because it holds the bigger focus for you. By the Law of Attraction, what we focus on gets bigger. If you are focused on lack, you create lack. If you focus on abundance you create abundance. If you focus on nothing, you create nothing. If you focus on what is, you create more of what is. If you would like to consciously create in your life, it calls for a shift in focus. A shift towards what you want vs. what you don’t want.

Here are a few tips to get you started - so that you may begin to attract the money that you would like in your life - so that you may experience the freedom you desire.

How to Increase the Flow of Money Into Your Life

1. Be conscious of the Law of Attraction: The Law of Attraction is defined like this - “That which is like unto itself is drawn.” So what you are radiating and vibrating in your life with your thoughts, words, emotion and beliefs you will attract to you. Again, focus on abundance, get abundance. Focus on lack of money - and you will create more of a lack of money. Also remember that first you ask with your desire, you receive, and then you allow “it” to come into your life.

2. Say YES to money: Have you made a decision to have money in your life? Have you said YES to money? Remember that when you say yes to money, you include that in your vibration, and you will attract money. If you are saying NO to money - with your feelings, thoughts or beliefs, you will also include that in your vibration. Decide to say YES to money. Line up what you want with what you feel. Don’t settle for what life throws your way - create your life just as you want it to be.

3. Consciously vibrate positive feelings about your money: As you think about your money, focus on what you have, vs. what you don’t have. Allow what you “don’t have” only to serve as a light in helping you to see what you do in fact want to create. Think positive thoughts about the money that you do have, see it growing, see it flowing in and out of your bank account with ease. See that you have enough, and that we all have enough. Come from a place that lack will only be our experience if we believe and project lack. See money as a wonderful source of energy that is a God given form of exchange. Get excited about creating money and feel good about it. Nothing is more important than that YOU FEEL GOOD when you are creating your life.

4. Be aware of where negative beliefs about money sneak up on you: Negative beliefs have a tendency to sneak up on you. Pay attention to your emotions - they will guide you. If you are not feeling good, check out your thoughts behind it. You may find a negative belief. If you find yourself feeling angry that someone makes more money than you, examine what your belief is. If you find yourself feeling sorry for another is not as prosperous as you, and you feel bad, examine that as well. Begin to unhook from negative beliefs through awareness, reframing, or shifting focus - which will allow you to flow your energy positively. Looks for as many positive aspects of a situation that you can possibly find. Write them down.

5. Make sure that what you want, and what you are vibrating, are the same: This of course ties in with your beliefs. People tend to have mixed attitudes that stem from greater belief systems, when it comes to creating money. You might say, “I want to create an extra £500 to pay for that seminar I want to take…” But then you might find yourself saying, “There is no way I am going to get that extra £500…. or, I can’t afford it….or, it’s too much….or, I have no idea how to get it….or, it’s probably not worth it anyway….or, or, or. Those beliefs or attitudes are in no way a match to what you actually desire - which is to go to that seminar. Can you feel the difference in the vibration even as you read the words? You make sure that what you desire, and what you are vibrating (about that desire) be in alignment.

6. Clean up your money clutter: When you clean up any space in your life, including you money space - you create space for more of what you want to come in. If you are wanting to create more money in your life, it is important to create space for that money! Pay your bills, pay those you owe, ask for payment for those who owe you, straighten your files, create a plan for your money, or handle your emotional issues around money. Remember that you will, as an end result feel clear. When you feel clear, you feel good (it’s like cleaning the house). And when you FEEL GOOD, and are coming from a good place about your money, you will be vibrating a pure vibration, which aligns you with what you, want — more money!

7. Love and appreciate your money: You may have had the experience, as you sit down to pay your bills - that you HATE to pay your bills. You see your bank account drain once again, and the fury builds from within. It’s important to note that what you love and appreciate you will attract more of, and what you depreciate you will repel. If you want more money, match your vibration to what you want, and the best way to feel good about something is to appreciate it, and allow your self to love it. Society tells us that it is not ok to love your money — in fact it’s not right even to talk about it. Break the chain of societal beliefs about money.

8. Love and appreciate yourself: It was said before, nothing is more important than feeling good. When you feel good, and happy, and passionate, and peaceful, and aligned with you true self, the process of manifestation can begin! Part of self-appreciation is honouring yourself enough to look within for the “answers”. It is tuning into your inner self and your intuition. It is paying attention to your emotions. If you feel negative, then you are not in alignment. If you feel good, then your are in alignment with your true self and your desires. Self appreciation also comes from choosing your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings - and acknowledging your power as the creator of your life!

The Great Implant Debate

May 16th, 2008

Breast implants are a popular area of plastic surgery. This leads us to the debate on the type of implants that are best and the government’s role in the decision

The debate on silicone and saline implants is a hot one. For a long period of time, silicone was dominant, but health concerns led to saline coming to the front.

Silicone first became a popular enlargement resource after World War II. Doctors would shoot silicone directly into women’s breasts to create enlargement. This direct approach resulted in numerous complications including cysts, sores and systematic illness. These complications led to the reduction of interest in silicone, but it would make a comeback.

In the early 1960s, two Houston plastic surgeons developed the first contained silicone implants with Dow Corning. To say the two plastic surgeons, Thomas Cronin and Frank Gerow, revolutionized plastic surgery would be a minor understatement. The procedure because very popular and there was practically more demand than there were plastic surgeons to satisfy it.

The implant was made of a harder silicone sack covering soft silicone gel. The implant was very popular because it held form better than saline implants. The implants, however, were not regulated at the time. As time passed, the Federal Drug Administration was given oversight and concerns started to arise regarding problems associated with leaks or complete failures of the implants. This was particularly true for second generation implants which were designed to be as soft as possible per surgeon requests, a situation that led them to be very thin and result in failures. One version had a polyurethane coating that actually degraded into a carcinogen, a product quickly pulled from the market.

The debate on silicone implants is heated, but surprisingly bereft of facts. What is clear is silicone implants leak silicone into the body. Silicone in the body is assumed to be a bad thing, but the exact correlation to specific diseases and problems are not clear. The primary reason is there has not been sufficient time to study the issue long-term and get verifiable results. Many women, however, have shown distinct negative health problems when suffering from leaking silicone implants, complaining of chronic fatigue, neurological and rheumatologic problems. While studies have found conflicting results, it is clear women who have had ruptured silicone implants removed tend to show improved health. The debate continues to this day, but the FDA restricted the use of silicone implants to medically necessary procedures as of 1992.

With the restrictions on silicone implants, saline implants have come on the scene. Originally developed in the 1960s, the implants were overshadowed by silicone until the 1992 ban. Saline implants have a rubberized surface and are filled with a saline solution. In general, they are considered safer than silicone because leaking results in fewer health risks as saline is not toxic in the body. That being said, there have been some complaints regarding saline implants. Specifically, the implants can be difficult to manipulate into the correct form, they can wrinkle and can bottom out - a situation where they sag at the bottom. While these are concerns you should discuss with your plastic surgeon, what is clear is the saline implants do not involve the risks associated with silicone implants.

There is an ongoing debate regarding implants. Since the FDA has banned silicone, it is a debate being won by saline breast implants.

Cysts - Need To Take Care

May 3rd, 2008

Cysts are formed due to the oil getting blocked in the pores of the skin. Cysts usually appear dark and are found on the back, face, neck and armpits. Cysts on the face are usually acne and those that are on the back etc., are known as sebaceous cysts. These cysts if plucked usually secrete a white material, which could be smelly too. If the cysts get infected they become soft and sometimes they are painful.

The condition can be taken care of by maintaining proper hygiene at home. Wash your hands constantly and do not touch the cysts even if you feel like touching them. Use antibacterial soap. If the condition worsens, a doctor could remove the cysts surgically.

There are many medicines that are available in the market for this condition. But, a visit to a dermatologist is the best option, as the doctor will find out the real reason for the condition and prescribe medicines accordingly. Self-medication is a strict no-no. The doctor will also be able to test and discount any other reason for the cysts. Some cysts on the body could be due to other conditions and only a doctor would be able to discount the possibility.

Collagen in Skincare

April 24th, 2008

Collagen is one of the main constituents of our skin. Located in the dermis, it is responsible for the resistance and integrity of the tissue. Collagen is a protein that serves as a key structural component of tissue, such as skin, bones, ligaments, etc. The dermis, the inner layer of the skin, contains large amounts of collagen, elastin and fibers which are responsilbe for your skin’s strength, texture and elasticity. Also, as we age, collagen becomes hard and cross-links with neighboring fibers making it difficult for the skin to hold moisture or maintain elasticity. It collapses on itself below the surface of the skin thus seen on the surface of the skin as wrinkles.

Wrinkles, lines and rough skin texture are a SURE SIGN OF POOR DERMAL COLLAGEN HEALTH. Collagen used in creams remains an effective tool in the area of cutaneous hydration. In fact, one can compare its molecule to a big sponge able to absorb a great quantity of water. Therefore when applied to the skin it maintains it to a humid state and provides it with optimal hydration thus reducing the appearance of ageing signs.

After the age of 20 collagen production reduces l % per year.

Collagen creams help by hydrating (moisturizing) the epidermis which tends to firm and revitalise, favours cellular renewal, smooth and plump up the skin by increasing the skins elasticity. Help to nourish, repair and tighten the skin as it helps to replenish the skin’s own natural collagen making it softer and radiant. The main role of collagen creams is to help retain water in the stratum corneum, that is to maintain the epidermis in a normal state of hydration. Also collagen is well known for its healing properties!

Recommended use of collagen skincare products are at any age or as soon as fine lines or wrinkles start to appear!

Invisible Braces, Viable Solutions

April 18th, 2008

Invisible braces, like Invisalign, are most popular among adults. For children and young teens, having traditional braces cemented to their teeth is almost a rite of passage. Wearing braces is so common among pre-teens and teens that it’s completely socially acceptable. A young woman or young man may not enjoy their braces, and they may not like having to go to the orthodontist’s office, but they won’t feel embarrassed by their braces.

The same cannot be said for adults. As an adult, wearing metal dental braces can be extremely embarrassing. This is especially true for adults who work, and whose work is effected by their image. If you sell cars, teach children, try cases in front of a jury or work in any other field where you need to communicate face to face, wearing braces will be a liability. Then again, having noticeably gapped teeth is a liability, too.

Invisible Braces, Viable Solutions
Fortunately, adults with crooked or gapped teeth have a number of options at their disposal. Some turn to invisible braces, which resemble retainers more than they resemble traditional braces. These plastic aligners are not precisely “invisible”, but they are, at least, clear. A new aligner is created for the wearer every two weeks, making this process both costly and time-consuming. Invisible braces like Invisalign take an average of nine to 15 months to work, although they may take longer.

Adults with gapped teeth, rather than crooked teeth, have a better invisible alternative. These folks can wear our ingenious Teeth Effects Bands that actually pull teeth toward each other, effectively closing a gap. Our bands are remarkably low cost, and have been proven to take only days or weeks to work.

Please visit http://www.teethgap.com to close your gap simply by wearing a band around your teeth.
