Steve Schwarzman - the Man Responsible for the Blackstone Group’s Unbelievable Success
October 29th, 2009If you have not heard the name Steve Schwarzman, you must have been hiding under a rock for the last few years. Forbes Magazine named him the 53rd wealthiest individual in America just last year, yet it is his significant accomplishments in the business and finance sector as well as his generosity to the arts that make this story so wonderful. The Blackstone Group co-founder is a fabulous role model and his life demonstrates that wealth may be attained by putting in the hours and being truly centered your goals.
In the eighties Steve and Peter Peterson founded their firm offering sound financial advice. Now, the Blackstone Group is a household name with investments as diversified as Allied Waste and The Weather Channel. Having called suburban Philadelphia home for much of his childhood and adolescence, Steve Schwarzman went to high school in the Abington School District. Subsequent to graduating high school he was accepted for undergraduate study at the widely esteemed Yale University in Connecticut. Harvard Business School near Boston was the next stop on his pathway to success, here he graduated in 1972. Then Steve started his career in earnest at Lehman Brothers investment bank, situated in New York. By the age of thirty-one, he had already been appointed one of their managing directors.
