Blind Date Secrets - 5 tips to ensure you both have a great

April 30th, 2009

So you’re going on a blind date. Few dating scenarios are as nerve wracking, and you’ve probably heard lots of horror stories about miserable blind dates. Your blind date doesn’t have to be a disaster, though, if you follow a few simple suggestions to help it be more successful.

Prepare Yourself

Communication experts say that we commonly form an impression of someone new within the first four minutes of meeting them. The first impression you make will set the stage for the entire blind date so prepare in advance to make a good one. Choose clothes that are appropriate for the date, not too revealing or strange. Get a fresh haircut, trim your fingernails, and shine your shoes if needed. On the day of date itself, allow plenty of time to get ready and allow extra travel time to wherever the two of you are meeting.

Where To Go And What To Do

Plan the date for a neutral location, preferably one where there will be a number of other people. When you don’t know the other person it’s not safe to meet in private, plus if you’re in a fairly active location it’s easier to disengage yourself from the date if necessary.

Most dating experts recommend that a blind date not be centered on a meal. If the date isn’t going well and you’re having dinner, you have to stick it out longer than if you’re meeting for coffee. There’s also the cost factor to consider. If either person is investing a lot of money in the date activity that puts more intense pressure on both people.

The First Meeting

Arrive a little early, make sure you’re neatly dressed, and step forward with a polite greeting and hand shake. Remember to smile and be friendly, even if you feel nervous. If you’re a man, open doors, hang up her coat, and pull out her chair if you’re sitting down. If you’re a woman and your date does these things for you, say thank you and enjoy being treated with good manners.

Making Conversation

Getting the conversation started and keeping it going is important to the success of your date. Remember those experts who said a first impression is formed in less than four minutes? They also tell us that communication is based on much more than just words. In fact, when you’re talking with your date the words you use only account for 7% of the total communication occurring. Your tone of voice accounts for 38% of your message and body language accounts for the remaining 55%.

Ending The Date

When the date comes to an end, thank the other person and say something general like “I enjoyed meeting you.” If things went really well then you can indicate if you’d like to date him or her again. If things didn’t go so well then don’t say you’ll call, or that maybe you could get together again sometime. This will create a false impression in the other person and simply avoids the truth.

If you don’t want to see the other person again, it’s okay to say so politely. Saying something like “I think we don’t have a lot in common” is much kinder than saying “I’ll call you” and then not calling. Always be kind, though, and make every effort to spare his or her feelings as much as possible.

Elegant Ways to Say I Do in Las Vegas

April 30th, 2009

Las Vegas is known as the Wedding Capital of the World and is famous for it’s wedding chapels, drive thru ceremonies and Elvis nuptials. Although these popular options are available, there are also numerous other ways to say I do in Las Vegas. Many hotels, resorts, and other locations in the Las Vegas area offer some very elegant and breathtaking wedding sites.

Lake Las Vegas is quickly becoming a very popular destination for weddings in the Las Vegas area. Located about 17 miles from the famous Strip, this stunning lake location offers ritzy resorts and amazing views of the mountains, desert, and Vegas skyline. There are many wedding venues to choose from at Lake Las Vegas. The Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas offers several including a cobblestone courtyard in a garden and a lakeside location with a bridge and gazebo. They also have a beach venue which provides a waterfall, bridge and a dock in a lagoon which acts as the altar. The MonteLago Village Resort Lake Las Vegas also has several wedding sites to choose from. A balcony in a hotel suite, a gazebo, and golf course locations are just a few of the wedding settings offered there. Another great option they offer are yacht weddings on Lake Las Vegas. The Wedding Company of Las Vegas offers a wedding package that offers a gondola wedding on Lake Las Vegas and includes helicopter transportation to and from the wedding as well as a helicopter tour of the Las Vegas lights.

Las Vegas is home to many top notch golf courses and country clubs which also provide amazing wedding sites. At Siena Golf Club, you can have your ceremony on their lawn under a wedding arbor. You can then hold your reception in their clubhouse or community center which both offer wonderful views of the golf course, a lake, and the Las Vegas Strip.

Mount Charleston is another wonderful alternative for a wedding in the Las Vegas area. Located about a 45 minute drive from the Strip, this beautiful mountain locale offers not only cooler weather than the Valley but also stunning scenery. The Mount Charleston Hotel provides packages for wedding ceremonies and receptions. You can have your wedding ceremony outdoors with all the beauty of the mountain surrounding you. Receptions can also be arranged outside, or can be held inside the hotel.

Planning your Las Vegas wedding no longer means that you are limited just to wedding chapels, drive thru ceremonies, and Elvis. These are still great options but they are not for everybody. If you dreamed of something more extraordinary for you big day, Las Vegas provides you with plenty of options to consider.

Traffic with Search Engine Optimisation

April 29th, 2009

Search engine optimisation melbourne is by far one of the best ways to ensure you get the best traffic from Google or Yahoo. These individuals will create so many back links for you that you will not be able to do the same. Having said that the concept of search engine optimisation is not a difficult concept to grasp. If your website is already optimise meaning that your website uses the proper html tags you are probably ready to go. And then the next step is to create as many back links as possible to point back to the relevant pages on your website. Now take note that you don’t need to link it to the top page of your website, in fact the best practice is to link it to a deeper page such as two levels down from example. This will tell Google about page and the relevant keywords for it. The better pages you link from the more chances you will be higher in the rankings. For example if you were to get a link from CNN.com you will probably rank pretty highly in Google or Yahoo. Yahoo is the easier search engine to optimise for. All’s good.

An Easy to Learn a Foreign Language with the Assistance of Audio Titles

April 27th, 2009

Visit and hop over to this very good authoritative source for http://www.audiofrombooks.com information

An active life makes it difficult to fit in all the books you want to read. Sometimes we don’t understand how lengthy commutes and other tasks take up sizable chunks of our time. Favorite hobbies get set aside for other more pressing tasks. You could use the time spent driving to get up to date on books you can’t find the time to read. Using convenient downloads, you can indulge in How to Overcome Fear by Marcos Witt for sale from Download Audio Book Online, or audible books narrated by Jerry Stearns & Brian Price when you are excercising. Multi-tasking is becoming inevitable these days. Audio books such as Daily Readings From Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen by Download Audio Book Online take advantage of the dead minutes everyday, it might be waiting in a physician’s surgery or possibly taking the family to soccer practise. Audiobooks are available to download as media data files suited for computers, laptops and media players for instance What Clients Love by Harry Beckwith, so if you’ve got an iPod or another mp3 player and earphones and get ready to listen to the current biography, like audio-books by Michael A. Lechter without carting cumbersome books with you. An additional advantage of audio titles is the opportunity to rent or buy many titles and peruse them at your own pace. Interested in learning Greek? Try an audio book! You can review current business trends, or you can enjoy studying current notions in religious thought.

A sizable selection of writing styles and titles exist. It really doesn’t matter if you are a travel devotee, nuts over love stories or interested in health and fitness, it’s easy to download most titles at once. Various options are available; it’s easy to take a subscription to a rental service or make a purchase. Reading devotees can always find a way to read, but the thousands of audio titles available offer convenience. A narrator can heighten the experience of many books. Reading a title is not the same experience as listening to an audio book told by Erik Bjork, with subtleties of an real rendition. Listening to audio-books recounted by John Stott can contribute something special to the title and often will mean much more to you than the words on a page.

So next time whenever you consider purchasing the hard copy of a book that might gather dust on the shelves, remember audio books as a better option.

Big Wave Mindfulness: Surfing For A Connectiton

April 26th, 2009

Surfing is mindfulness in action. Riding the biggest waves is an all-out, fully-present-or-die-trying proposition.

Thanks to a persistent case of aquaphobia, I’ve never tried surfing. However, I’ve done my share of snowboarding, and I am trying to imagine what it would be like to carve the slopes with several tons of avalanche chasing me down the mountain. First of all, I would have to hike to the top and wait to catch the biggest avalanche, getting pummeled by several in the process. Oh, and then try not to think too much about the abominable snowman poised to take a hunk out of my leg when I least expect it.

Yeah. I’m stoked.

I don’t really “get” surfing, but I stand in awe of it. It’s impossible to avoid acknowledging the strength, timing, grace and heart-blazing courage required just to catch those enormous waves, let alone ride them smoothly without wiping out.

Whether or not you’re into water, “Riding Giants” is a breathtaking film guaranteed to raise your pulse rate. Following the rise of big wave surfing from its ragtag roots in the fifties to the jet-ski boosted endorsement deals of today, “Riding Giants” offers a fascinating look at surf culture in all its guts and glory–not to mention its sun-bleached hair, wave- toned bodies, and plenty of pre-cancerous skin cells.

Although several world-class surfers are profiled, the one I find most amazing is Jeff Clark, a 43-year-old native of Half Moon Bay, California who is credited with discovering Mavericks, a notoriously gnarly big wave mecca twenty miles south of San Francisco.

Clark spotted the monstrous waves from the cliffs of Half Moon Bay as a teenager. One day, he decided to paddle the half-mile in chilly ocean water to check it out. Never mind that he was too far out for his worried friend–or anyone else–to save him. Forget that these waves would turn out to be so huge that, years later, seasoned pros from Waimea would find them jaw-dropping. Disregard the razor-sharp rocks waiting to chew up anyone unfortunate enough to be slammed to the shore.

Clark had his first of many ride-of-your-life experiences that day. He couldn’t believe the power of it, the magic, the unimaginable thrill.

He went out to surf that incredible vortex every day. Alone. For fifteen years.

I’m guessing that his parents were either a) clueless about where he was, or b) powerless to prevent him from returning. He couldn’t find anyone insane enough to join him.

He wasn’t doing it for the attention, for the chicks, for the cameras, or for the money. He was out there getting pounded for the sake of that big ol’ grin on his face and the unfathomable sense of connection to something larger than himself.

Clark was like some modern day ascetic, putting himself through tortuous rites and death defying acts of faith while living in seclusion. He became one with the water on a daily basis through rigorous attention and exhaustive exploration.

I am humbled. I envy him. And I can’t stop thinking about how most of us will never have this all-consuming passion or such a magnificent opportunity to experience oneness with anything.

Jeff Clark may be crazy. He may be obsessed. But he is a man whose mindfulness has inspired and elevated him–and saved his skin on numerous occasions.

We should all be so lucky to discover such a wondrous wave.

Bextra and Vioxx — Tips for Arthritis Relief Without Them

April 24th, 2009

The recent withdrawal of Vioxx and Bextra from the marketplace, due to concerns over unwanted side effects, has many arthritis sufferers concerned. These drugs, which belong to a powerful class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs known as COX-2 inhibitors, are quite effective at fighting the pain and inflammation of arthritis. Unfortunately, they have been linked to increased risk of strokes and heart attacks. Their manufacturers have voluntarily withdrawn them from the market.

There are still alternative medications available, such as Celebrex, and traditional medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen. Aspirin and ibuprofen may not be suitable for everyone, as they can cause stomach discomfort in some people. While a good anti-inflammatory can certainly provide more comfort for arthritis pain, there are some non-medicinal steps that patients can take that may provide some relief from their pain.

  • Get plenty of rest. Your body works best when it’s well-rested, and it’s a well-known fact that most Americans fail to get the recommended seven to eight hours of sleep each night.

  • Exercise. Joints and muscles work best when they’re well toned, and that is true for arthritis sufferers as well as the public at large. Not all exercises will be appropriate, however. A patient with arthritic knees will probably not benefit from playing basketball or tennis. Low impact exercise like walking or water aerobics may help, however. Patients with arthritis are advised to discuss exercise options with their physician.

  • Watch your weight. Arthritic joints work best when they aren’t overly burdened. If you are overweight, you are making a bad situation worse by forcing your joints to work harder than they otherwise might. A loss of just a few pounds could make a huge difference, especially if you suffer from arthritic knees.

  • These tips are certainly not intended to be a substitute for medication, but with a chronic condition like arthritis, every little bit that you can do to ease the stress on your aching joints can provide a bit more relief.

Atlantic Square, Glasgow’s New Wall Street

    April 24th, 2009

Scottish development Group, Capella, have unveiled plans for a new business centre in the heart of Glasgow city. Atlantic Square has already received preliminary approval from the council, and will replace the existing billion pound International Financial Services District (IFSD). Costs for the project have been estimated at around ninety million, providing more than two hundred thousand square feet of quality Office Design, a conference centre and even a health club. A six storey hotel is also on the cards and a covered courtyard will act as a central focus point.

The IFSD has already brought fifteen thousand people to the district of Broomielaw and it’s hoped a further 2500 jobs will be generated. Expanding Glasgow’s commercial profile and turning the heart of Glasgow into a major financial centre. Jim Fitzsimons is the group’s chief exec and he described the project as an “exciting mixed-use scheme that will create a destination”.

Broomielaw was once a run down area of Glasgow, where a factory fire claimed the lives of twenty two workers in 1968. The group will be preserving the A listed faade of warehouses, along the Quay on James Watt Street. Once the departure point for steamers from Ireland and the Clyde. Fitzsimons believes “Wall Street on the Clyde“, as it is now known, will be a success despite the current economic downturn because Glasgow is “better placed”. Fitzsimons is confident it will provide a “timely boost for Glasgow” and that companies will be reserving space over the coming year. As the chief exec points out, Broomielaw is already considered a “traditional city centre by business occupiers” and is optimistic that “Atlantic Square will further enhance its profile”.

Mythbusters: People Must Gain Weight on a Cruise

    April 19th, 2009

This article is addressed to two groups of people: those who have cruised and those
who haven’t. Does that make sense? If you’ve cruised, you can relate to what this is
all about. If not, I’m preparing you for what to expect on that fateful day when you
do. Well, as a cruiser, I feel that an urban legend regarding weight gain must be put
to rest. The myth perpetuated by former cruisers is that, during the course of the
    journey you will gain (a) 5 pounds, (b) 10 pounds, (c) 20 pounds, (d) so much
weight, they’ll arrange for a forklift on the other end. I can attest that this isn’t true.

But, people do add additional girth because, once at sea, they have forgotten how to
    eat. Let me explain.

This ‘out-of-control’ behavior is the direct result of the insidious cruise line.
They make ‘food’ a destination by itself. By providing outrageous buffets, dining
rooms, snack areas, and unlimited cabin service, food is available in a nonstop,
never-ending, extravaganza that tempts even the best of strong-willed travelers.
One could eat continuously for the entire trip if one desired. Normal people become
transformed into eating machines with uncontrollable urges, heaping outlandish
portions upon their plates. It’s as if they were hypnotized into a feeding frenzy,
against their better judgment. Is there no help for these soon-to-be members of
    overeaters anonymous?

Of course, and that’s why I’m here. There’s a simple solution, which I will share.
Begin with an attitude that says, I don’t want to hate myself when I get home, but I
still want to have fun and indulge. Consider every meal as a personal challenge.

Think about how you eat when you’re not on a vacation, where there is:

    (a) less temptation,
    (b) limited choices,
    (c) an actual cost associated with each portion, and
    (d) consequences with overeating.

Then begin with your breakfast. Does a stack of foot-high pancakes, a dozen
sausages and a whole pineapple look anything like what you eat at home? Try to
make a relationship back to realistic needs. If you usually have a piece of toast at
home, then why would you require a tray-load of Belgium waffles, covered with
    extra whipped cream, at sea?

It’s okay to treat yourself with a dessert that you might not normally order, but
try to keep things in perspective. The temptation to overeat, because all the meals
are included, is attractive. But the reality is that one day, you’ll be back home
bemoaning the fact you have to diet because certain clothes you love won’t fit
anymore. Another way to stay fit on a cruise is to bypass the elevator. Personally, I
never use one. Even if I’m on the 5th floor and need to get to deck 14, I walk the
stairs. And walk the ship often. And when you’re in port, walk there too. If you work
out at home, use the ship’s gym: it’s free. Then, when you grab the chocolate
mousse dessert at night, you have a fighting chance to keep your weight gain to a
    minimum, if any at all.

To recap, avoid temptation and eat like you were at home. Walk everywhere and
often. Treat yourself in moderation. You may not lose weight, but you should at
least keep the status quo and you’ll thank yourself when you’re back on land.
Gaining weight on a cruise is not inevitable: Myth busted and Bon Voyage!

Internet Sports Gaming Keeps Gamblers Close to Base

    April 18th, 2009

Most risk takers will certainly have stumbled upon the phrase “offshore sports betting”, though many may not be altogether certain what that implies. A foreign gambling website inherently acts extrinsically to the territory of a single land or it can mean a networked gambling internet site which bases their servers in a country in which live playing of games of fortune is not illegal. In short then, it’s a gambling business active outside of the jurisdiction of the land of the player. Web based sports gambling web sites are currently governed through 3 agencies. They are the OSGA (the Offshore Gaming Association), IGC (Interactive Gaming Council) and the Fidelity Trust Gaming Association FTGA.

The OSGA are an independent “watch-dog” office which regulates the modern overseas sports betting trade in an enterprise to also provide betting lovers access to readily identify fair internet organizations to play games on, without concern. The association labors to maintain the concerns of gamblers, furthermore they charge no annual fees.

The OSGA are a competent and equitable third party company that conveys impartial points of view, advised by customer feedback, impartial research, chats, prompts also dispenses inside gossip.

The Interactive Gaming Council is a non commercially influenced organization. The organisation has been designed to allow an arena for concerned people to address subjects and also to improve collective interests in the world-wide interactive gaming trade, to ensure even handed not to mention stable trade guidelines and forms which endeavor to raise consumer certainty in internet betting products and utilities, and in addition to assist as the sports betting industry’s universal practise consultant not to mention it supplies an info center.

The IGC have established a distinction for promoting dependability, good action and plausibility thanks to its scrupulous criteria, and in addition its allure for honest sports gaming web sites. The IGC influences overseas sports gaming by means of recommending an original ten step operative code and in addition charges gambling sites license fees for publishing the council’s logo. Malcontent gambling devotees may also report their arguments to the IGC.

The FTGA was founded in an effort to produce a standard which will reform the actions of online gaming businesses. The Interactive Gaming Council hope that carrying on business with good partners, they can build a federation of the most honest and most efficient overseas gambling operations worldwide.

To summarize, these are governing bodies who co-ordinate the dealings of on-line gambling and which should with luck help to relieve a few of the insecurities experienced by many betters. Machine-accessible sports betting web sites are at present entirely safe, now that personal details should not be required and the payments not to mention the odds are equivalent to a normal Vegas-style sportsbet. They get rid of travel outlay, but still keep of a casino, only today you are able to bet in your home.
