Gary Allan Tickets

December 29th, 2008

Gary Allen a country singer from Long Beach, California, who mesmerized the city audience too. He was born in Montebello, California on Dec 5, 1967. He was named Gary Herzberg. Gary was raised in La Mirada, California. In his early teens, actually at the age of twelve he began to play the honky-tonk circuit with his father’s band to follow his father’s footsteps. Gary Allen turned down a record deal when he was still in high school. Allen used most of his twenties to groom his skills as a new traditionalist country singer. But finally Decca label picked him up in 1996. Allen’s first album “Used Heart for Sale” came out that year. Though his first album was not a very brave attempt but he established himself as a talented performer having immense potential. He managed to give to hits “Her Man” in 1996 and “It Would Be You” in 1998.

Two years later he came back with his second album “It Would Be You”. His talent was more acknowledged after this album. In 1999 Allen was signed by MCA, with whom he released his blockbuster third album “Smoke Rings In The Dark”. The ravishing title track and “Right Where I Need to Be” of this super hit album geared it to a platinum level. The album contains almost the best ever done by Allen. It was shown that Allen have taken special care that the music should not get very heavy for the city-life listeners. And it worked like anything. His album also included a stimulating cover of the Del Shannon classic “Runaway” that recollected to Allan’s teen days on the honky tonk circuit.

With Allen’s forth album “Alright Guy” though it was not a super hit like the earlier one, he proved that he is only getting polished with his growing age. This album also contained two hits “The One” and “Man to Man”. “Man To Man” was a # 1 Hit. Allen toured a lot with his Album “Alright Guy” before working on his next up coming album. And when “See If I Care” came out in 2003, it proved to be another milestone towards his twilight of success. It spurred his singing career even more.

Besides his several hits, Allen was nominated for CMA Horizon award, which is given to newcomers in 2003. And that very year, he released his next album “See If I Care”, having the hits “Tough Little Boys” and “Songs About Rain.” An unfortunate event followed him. In 2004, his wife committed suicide. But later on next year in 2005, Allen released his sixth the album “Tough All Over”.

His style has reflections of Bakersfield Sound, but with the beautiful modern touch. He is moving along well with graceful pace in his singing career. He doesn’t only possess rustic alluring looks but also have a talent to glorify his persona.

Bryan Ellis comments on Virtual Real Estate Investing

December 29th, 2008

Landlords and rehabbers take notice - you may soon be focused on the new concepts of “Virtual Real Estate Investing“. What is meant by “Virtual Real Estate Investing” ranges from online games like SecondLife (where real profit can be made) to the use of internet technologies to make normal real estate investors more profitable.

In order to figure out the truth of the matter, I sought out Bryan Ellis, whose experience in the fledgling industry is truly impressive.

“I began using the term ‘virtual real estate investing’ in the late 1990’s when I realized the clear similiarities in profit strategies, regardless of whether the “real estate” is “virtual” or “physical” said Ellis.

One example of the parallels between virtual and physical real estate Bryan Ellis cites is the similarity between the monetization of domain names versus physical property. He points out that control of a domain name or even a specific web page is much like controlling a real estate property ” those assets can be monetized in similar ways: By selling them for a profit, by leasing them, by offering advertising, etc.

I must admit: Its easy to see the parallels. For example, if you’re the owner of a desirable property, its desirability is (in a business context) largely due to its being in a location that is of interest to others. Similarly, ownership of a desirable domain name is valuable for the same reasons. So it doesn’t matter if you own physical real estate or virtual real estate - you’ll likely use similar strategies to turn them into money in your pocket.

In our next installment of this series on virtual real estate investing, Bryan Ellis will share the internet analogies to the physical concept of real estate development.

In Love With a Married Man?

December 29th, 2008

If you are in love with a married man, you really need to sit back and take in some good advice. There are typically two situations in which you may feel this way. In the first situation you may be in love with someone who is married, but may not be acting on it. When you are only at this stage in the game, you should try to get this person out of your mind. You may just feel like you need someone like this man. You may want the type of life he provides his wife with. You may not really be in love with him at all, but the idea of a man like him. So, back off and find a single guy before you go playing “Home Wrecker”.

If you are having an affair with a married man, you really need to re-evaluate what you are doing to yourself. Of course you are really taking part in ruining a family, but that all aside, you are not doing much for your own life either. You may think that he will leave his wife for you, and he might have even told you so, but statistics show that most married men having affairs never leave their wife. So, before you hurt anyone else or waste anymore time, you might want to get out.

The Art Of Love Messages

December 29th, 2008

Love, the very word brings forth feelings of warmth. Love, a relationship, which makes us whole. A companion with whom we share all our emotions, our life, our thoughts, our body, our everything. That is love and lucky are those who fall in love.

During the initial phase of love, there is a tremendous passion and a desire to keep on sharing everything. Keep on telling about how one loves their beloved in so many different ways. In this phase, lovers speak of flowers, stars, moon, and so many other objects that one can find to define love.

All of us have our own style of sending love messages. Some write their own poems. Some send small notes. Some send very long letters and some search for poems that can reflect their emotions. Searching for gifts, and sending messages, meeting, enjoying life together, and so many other such activities mark the initial phase of love. Love is indeed mysterious because you will find poems being written by those about whom you had never suspected this. Your most ordinary looking practical gardener will develop dreamy eyes and start sending love notes after falling in love! PG Wodehouse wrote about this in most of his stories with great fun and understanding.

The best part of love messages arrives after many years. Show a lover what he/she did many years ago and they will themselves not believe that they wrote all that gibberish. That is love.

Holidays for the Environmentally Conscious Skier

December 27th, 2008

Dozens avid skiers will shortly be trying to find their ski trousers and dashing forth looking for the largest snow.

And without doubt the results of our carbon footprint will be roughly as far down the list of vacation essentials as a Christmas tree after the Christmas holidays.

Only last year, a sluggish snow made the the broadsheets and tourists were panic struck about the smattering of snow disappearing almost as soon as they put down.

Holiday organisation Chalet1802, placed at the bottom of Mont Blanc in Chamonix village in the Alps, is one of the only independent firms to go carbon negative and offer skiers an environmentally friendly alternative when booking their ski vacations.

Chalet1802 owner Fran stated: Last season was quite a surprise with the most warm wintertime in 50 yrs in the French Alps. Ski resorts like Alpe d’Huez, Les Deux Alpes and La Tania has difficulty. It was balmy and the snow didn’t last so much of the early skiing season in the mountains was uneven. We chose to go carbon negative to help preserve the ski resort.

Fran said: We are not seeking to dictate to punters only I feel it is valuable to provide the guests the option without augmenting the cost of the stay. If the guest book with us and goes on holiday to our Chamonix catered chalet they may more than off set their carbon footprint and we absorb the additional prices. Of course we still have a sauna and a hot tub - customers want luxuriousness but not at the expense of the alps mountains, so we looked at ways of diminishing the results of a skier flying over here for a snowboarding holiday.”

The company have moreover joined with charity Climate Care, who attacks climate change by making C02 deductions on behalf of people and companies.

Choosing a Music Subscription Service

December 26th, 2008

If “legally” filling up your MP3 player with gigabytes of music for less than the retail price of a single album interests you, then it is time to choose a music subscription service. Digital music is an emerging market with three major players enticing thousands of people to give up pirating their music and actually paying for it.

When taken into consideration that people have been stealing music long before the advent of the MP3 file, which made pirating music a widespread epidemic, why now are people all of a sudden going straight? So many, that 2005 was the first year legal downloads of music exceeded illegal downloads on P2P sites. Thank Rhapsody, Napster, and Yahoo Music Unlimited for finally offering a model that makes sense. Instead of buying songs or albums, they offer subscribers the ability to rent their entire collection of over 1 million tracks for a low monthly fee. Buying thousands of tracks on Apple’s iTunes would cost thousands of dollars, where you can easily download 10,000 or more songs to your MP3 player through a music subscription service for as low as $4.99 a month. Aside from the cost savings, renting music has more advantages over buying. For one, it is convenient. Imaging having over 1 million full length high quality songs at your fingertips, so whether you want to listen to your favorite song, something different on an impulse, or are just curious about an emerging artist, you can have it all. On top of that, you don’t have to worry about slow downloads, poor audio quality, corrupt or infected files.

Convinced? So which music subscription service is right for you?

While they are all pretty comparable, Rhapsody is probably the cream of the crop. They offer the most streamlined interface and the best jukebox functionality, all accessible from any PC connected to the web. Artist bios, radio stations (which allow you to skip songs), and advanced playlist features are all integrated into the interface. For $14.99 a month, this is a great value. Subscribers also have the option to download songs for 89 cents a track.

Napster also has an attractive interface with advanced playlist features and a massive catalog of music that is continually growing. It has a few nice personalization features, but transferring songs to an MP3 player can be more difficult with Napster than the alternatives. For $14.95 a month and 99 cent tracks, it is still a great value.

Yahoo Music Unlimited is the least expensive option, charging only $4.99 a month and just 79 cent tracks. It includes a nice jukebox, radio stations (which allow you to skip songs), and can integrate with the popular Yahoo Messenger client. If the appealing price outweighs a lack of extras like artist bios and a few bugs here and there, then Yahoo is probably the way to go.

With digital music sales soaring, it is a safe bet that all three of these music subscription services will flourish and continue to develop even more features, grow their already extensive catalogs, and convert more and more pirates into renters.

The Advantages Of Professional Wedding Photography

December 26th, 2008

An important aspect of planning the events and preparations for your wedding lies in the selection of a photographer. Some people are intimidated by the concept of arranging for professional wedding photography because they fear the cost will be too exorbitant. Professional wedding photography is certainly not cheap, but it is one of those things in life where the old adage “you get what you pay for” is certainly true. You can use an amateur for your wedding photos if you so desire, but the difference in the end result will be readily apparent. Still, there are ways to get good quality wedding photography, performed by a professional, and still have enough cash left for the honeymoon.

When selecting a professional to handle your wedding photography, price will be a factor in your decision. While you get what you pay for, there is no reason to pay more than you have to. Before deciding on any one photographer or photo studio, do some comparisons. Look at the sample photos that you are shown and ask if they have samples you can take with you. Compare the look of the photos from each photographer with one another. If you find two that seem to be of similar quality but with vastly different prices, then the decision is easy. Obviously the less costly photographer can do the same or similar work for less.

Another consideration in selecting a professional photographer for your wedding is what you get for your money. Most professional wedding photographers offer package deals that include a set number of prints of different shapes and sizes for one price. These packages can vary greatly in terms of content and price from one photographer to another. Look at all they have to offer and make your decision after weighing what you think is the best deal for the money in terms of what you actually get.

One thing many people do not consider when selecting a photographer for their wedding is the impact of copyright law. The photographer may hold a copyright on your wedding photographs. If so this technically makes it illegal for you to create additional prints, copies, or even computer scans of the photographs for reproduction elsewhere. Find out when interviewing photographers what rights they exercise over your photos, if any. You’ll find that most photographers do exercise some form of copyright over the finished product. Others will sell you the entire package, including the negatives for you to do with as you please. This is not the most important part of selecting a photographer, but it is something to consider carefully.

Professional wedding photography is one part of your overall wedding experience that will, unfortunately, cost you some money. There is no way around that if you want the best wedding photos you can get. With a little investigation and comparison, however, you can still save money on this most important feature and make sure that you get the absolute most for your money that you possibly can.

Are You Chasing the Elusive Butterfly of Happiness?

December 25th, 2008

For many people happiness is an elusive butterfly in the garden of life. Imagine a young child in the garden on a summer day. The child sees a beautiful butterfly flitting from flower to flower. With eyes of wonder the child wants to see it close up, touch it, and hold it in their hands. The child goes towards the flower that the butterfly is resting on, with arms out stretched, only to find as he just gets in reach, the butterfly moves to another flower. Undeterred the child follows the butterfly to the next flower, and then the next, but the butterfly always stays just out of reach.

As adults, happiness can seem just like that butterfly, always just out of reach. It becomes almost an obsession and the words “if only…” become an increasingly large part of our thoughts and vocabulary. If only I had more money I would be happy, if only I was in a great relationship I would be happy, if only I could have a different job……….and the list goes on. Even if we achieve one of our “if only “desires, the happiness we seek is still just out of our reach. The truth of the saying “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence” becomes our focus and perception. If this becomes our focus, we find that dissatisfaction and unhappiness increasingly keep growing in our life and experience.

The unhappiness within us can not be completely satisfied by external events or circumstances. To find happiness in life we must first be at peace with ourselves internally. External events and circumstances can bring us happiness in the moment, but they do not have a lasting effect on our inner self. Life experience brings a mixture of good and bad circumstances to everyone. To rely on life’s experiences for our source of happiness would mean living life in a constant emotional roller coaster ride.

Happiness comes from within. The inner contentment that survives the roller coaster ride of life has its roots deep within our being. The source of happiness comes from finding and embracing who we are as a person, and living a life of purpose. We need to find peace in every aspect of our life- the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. To discover acceptance, purpose and peace in all of these areas will give a sense of completion in life. If we neglect any one of these areas, we experience a sense of emptiness and feel something is missing. There is not a solid foundation for building happiness within, but we then, typically start to try to fill this incompleteness by looking for outside solutions. That is the point when we can fall into the ‘elusive butterfly’ syndrome, and experience such frustration.

Is happiness an elusive butterfly for you? Spend some time in quiet reflection. Are you neglecting one of the four important parts of who you are and experiencing a sense of emptiness within? The more you discover, embrace and accept your uniqueness and purpose, the more you will experience the butterfly of happiness alighting on your shoulder.

Arthritis supplements

December 24th, 2008

While not everybody agrees that supplements are useful, there is quite a lot of anecdotal evidence to support them.

Couple of most hyped supplements for arthritis include glucosamine and chondroitin.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar that may have a major role in cartilage repair, it can also have minor anti inflammatory effects.

Chondroitin is also component of cartilage, it works very much similarly to glucosamine.

They can be very useful when the pain is directly cause by cartilage breakdown.

There’s some scientific evidence to back up their usefulness, and they might be worth trying, especially in case of osteoarthritis.

But, remember that glucosamine & chondroitin are sold as dietary supplements, and supplements aren’t regulated with the scrutiny of drugs.

So, make sure to purchase from reputable sources, or better yet buy a branded product, and you’ll minimize the risks of ending up with an unworthy product that doesn’t even have a change to work.
